Farm to Table Dinner

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

A couple weeks ago Sam and I attended a farm to table dinner in Pulaski, TN. Chef Jakob Reed from Albany Bistro prepared all the food using local ingredients.

The dinner took place at the 1890 Hardy Chambers farmhouse, which is available for events and weddings.

Everything was so charming and rustic. This experience made me want to buy a farmhouse.

Normally the dinners are held outdoors, but it was very cold and dinner was moved inside.

I loved the mix of vintage china!

The sweet potato mousse (on the right) was to die for!

The hostess made the felt sheep on the left.

Ashley Vaughn, our wedding photographer, was having an exhibit at the dinner, which is one of the reasons we attended. The exhibit was titled Farmacy, and included photographs of farm animals. You can see one in the photo below.

After dinner there was original music.

I loved the lighting!

It was a fun evening, even though it was cold and rainy. The food was delicious and we even made a new friend.

House warming party

Monday, October 26, 2015

In July we had a house warming party and invited friends, family, and all the neighbors on our street.
I ordered the invitations from Etsy, and I love how they turned out!

We had cheese, salami and crackers, chicken salad on a homemade roll, deviled eggs (that my sister made), caprese skewers, key lime pie, strawberry pie, and Texas sheet cake.

I bought flowers from the grocery store and divided them around the house.

The food signage was the same template that I used at our wedding.

I ordered the green napkins from Etsy.

Many of our neighbors had lived on the same street for years and never met each other!

My favorite photo! Finn loves children!

Finn and my sister's dog, Gigi.

Sam and his aunt looked like they color coordinated.

My mom and sister (on the left) helped a lot with the food prep!

Roadtrip - Yosemite National Park

Thursday, October 22, 2015

We drove from Sequoia to Yosemite and arrived in the evening on May 17th around 5:00. We pulled off the road at Tunnel Road and took several photos. The above photo is the view from Tunnel Road. We kept driving through Yosemite Valley and took as many photos as we could before it got dark.

I believe this is Horse Trail Fall.

We stayed at the Upper Pines camp ground at Yosemite. The camp sites were very close together, and every camp site was full. It was our 1 year anniversary, so we pulled out our anniversary wine bottle (that our wedding guests signed) and drank it at the campsite.

In Yosemite, dogs are allowed on paved trails, so we walked from the Visitor Center to the Lower Yosemite fall trail. We didn't have a lot of time to spend in Yosemite, and this was a short walk.

This is where John Muir's cabin was built. Can you imagine seeing this view everyday?!!

Finn looks so sad and pitiful here because there was another dog close by and we wouldn't let them play together.

Finn was distracted by another dog.
