I've been thinking about getting an Erin Condren Life Planner. To help me decide it the planner was worth the cost (the planner is around $50), I decided to take a look at my current organization methods. To be honest, everything I've currently doing is working, but I have about 1,748 (ok, slight exaggeration) different spreadsheets and tracking methods. I didn't even realize I had so many until I started working on this post!

Meal Planner
This is a magnet on the side of the fridge. I was hoping this method would eliminate the "What are we having for dinner" question. It hasn't.

Cards and invitations
Anything that comes in the mail that I want to keep goes here.

Seasonal house projects
This checklist is working REALLY WELL for us. It's taped on the side of the kitchen cabinet, making it easy for both of us to see. We are in the kitchen every single day, so it's daily reminder of the projects we want to accomplish
Long term house projects
I used this spreadsheet to plan and budget for our house renovations before we moved in. I also came up with a loose yearly plan for future renovations. I know I want to track our house spending over the long term, and I think a spreadsheet is the best way to do that.
Long term financial plan
This is large Excel spreadsheet, much larger than is shown here. Obviously this spreadsheet contains a lot of numbers, which I wasn't comfortable sharing. This spreadsheet goes from 2015-2021. This spreadsheet is everything to me, and is a plan for how to afford our life for the next 6 years.
Google calendar used for
-blog post ideas
-shared calendar with Sam for his appointments
-Sam's reenactment schedule (he does Civil War reenactments)

Outlook (work) calendar used for
-work meetings
-dr appointments
-dinners with friends
-dinners that require reservations

Everything I'm currently doing is working well for me, so I'm not sure if I should switch organization methods. It seems like the Erin Condren planner would simplify everything in one place, but I'm still torn.
