We've had a lot of guests this summer, and for Thanksgiving we'll be hosting Sam's entire family. The guest room became our next house priority, so guests could have a place to stay.
This is what the room looked after we moved all the furniture in.
In September, Sam, my mom and I painted the room. I chose Benjamin Moore Guilford Green. When I looked at photos of this color online, it looked like a soft beigy-green. There is nothing about this color that is beige. It's very green, and I think this photo is completely accurate color-wise.
I decided the first bedding option wasn't very Finn friendly, so I added a blanket and a darker pillow. During the day, Finn spends all his time in this room because he can get great views of the neighborhood while sitting on the bed.
While we were on our roadtrip, we purchased National Park posters and artwork from each place we visited.
These are our favorite posters. L to R: Yosemite, Petrified Forest, Sequoia. We'd love to add on to this collection one day. Our new travel goal is to visit as many National Parks as we can.
This table was handed down to us from Sam's grandma. She used it as a sewing table, and we're using it as a nightstand. The lamp is from Pier 1 years ago.
I found this tiny frame at a thrift store with the photo of Nikki and Donnie already inside (their names are written on the back). I love the 80's style of this photo, so I kept the photo even though I don't know these people at all.
The brass snails are from a thrift store.
The artwork above the bed is a blueprint of the Golden Gate Bridge. Sam and I made the headboard from two doors that we purchased at the Habitat ReStore.
Future projects in this room: purchase new closet doors in November and replace the ceiling fan blades.
