Kitchen Progress

Friday, April 17, 2015

Last week and this week we've been working a lot on the kitchen. Here is our progress:

This week Sam has finished hanging the light fixtures:

This one is over the breakfast nook. You can really see our almond colored vinyl windows in this photo. I would love to have white windows, but these windows are new-ish, so it's not worth it to replace them.

This light fixture replaces the can light over the sink.

Our bamboo floors are being installed right now, and the installer told us we would have to scrape the mortar off the sub-floor before he could install the floors. The installer could have done it, but he would have to charge us extra. Sam and my dad spent an evening doing this while I swept up.

  1. Awesome progress! I love that breakfast nook light fixture! I don't mind the almond windows so much, especially now that all the trim is white. Once you get your window treatments up, you might not even notice them. :) Everything looks really great!

  2. It looks so great so far! Scraping the ceilings is the worst...my husband basically refuses to buy a house with popcorn ceilings! It's a little silly but I guess I get not wanting to do that work!

  3. I can't wait to see the finish. Progress is fast in my opinion. :)
    Good job on this one.

  4. Thank you! It feels fast looking at the photos, but in real life it feels so slow!

  5. I TOTALLY get this now that we've done the work!

  6. Megan, I'm really hoping that's the case! With blinds and window treatments, I'm really hoping those almond windows disappear.
