Belle Chevre Tour

Monday, August 4, 2014

Back in March, we went to Elkmont, Alabama to the Belle Chevre creamery. We toured the creamery, visited with the goats, and then had a cheese tasting.
Belle Chevre goat cheese is sold all over the United States and they've won tons of awards. I follow them on Instagram, and I think their latest award was for Best Cheesecake. I'm not even a big fan of goat cheese, but they have very good cheesecake! We've sampled it at Greene Street Farmer's Market.

The building that the creamery is currently in used to be a cotton warehouse of some sort. While they were making renovations to the building, they found this old piece of farming equipment underneath the floor.
