New York City 2012

Monday, May 26, 2014

I'm currently in Greece on my honeymoon! In the meantime, I have a series of travel posts scheduled until I return.

In October 2012, I visited my friend Elizabeth is New York City. I flew in on Friday, and on Saturday we made a full day of sightseeing planned.
We had brunch at Sarabeth's in Central Park.

Then we spend about half the morning wandering around Central Park.

Next, we walked around St Patrick's Cathedral. The exterior was under construction, but the interior was beautiful!

Then we walked around Rockefeller Center. We barely spent any time here, just long enough to take pictures.

Then we wandered over to Grand Central.

We stopped for some lunch inside Grand Central, and then grabbed some dessert to go.

I told Elizabeth that she HAD to go see the Public Library, which is my favorite building in New York, so we walked over there.

After all that walking, it was time for some rest. So we sat for a while in Bryant Park and ate some cookies and drank some tea.

Elizabeth's husband met up with us in Bryant Park, and then the three of us walked to the Flatiron Building.

Elizabeth loves food, but her husband could care less. She had read about the best cupcakes in the city, so we decided to walk to a bakery and eat!

We stopped at Sweet Revenge, the nations only cupcake, wine, and beer bar, for some cupcakes. I got pumpkin.
Each cupcake was listed with a recommended beer or wine pairing, and I got Pear Cider that was recommended with my pumpkin cupcake.
Elizabeth got a white cupcake and wine.

After filling up on sweets, we walked to Washington Square Park.

And then we walked to Freedom Tower One. We were interested in seeing the Trade Center memorial area, but there were throngs of people, so we decided to skip it.
