No senioritis here

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I'm not sure what I have, but it's the opposite of senioritis. Maybe I should call it Get-Everything-Done-Now-itis. A long title, but it fits me right now. I've never been a procrastinator, but I'm not usually the type of person who gets things done early. But I am now!

In this post I mentioned that I had to finish my perspective because it was due the next day. And then I posted the drawing and rendering. It turns out I was the ONLY person who had finished the perspective and no one else had even STARTED on any renderings. I have finished three out of the five renderings. FINISHED! And no one else has even started. The perspective rendering is due tomorrow. Then we have to do two maquette models. (You can see an example of a maquette model here. I did one for my last project.) I'm nearly done with both of them, and they aren't due until after Thanksgiving. I also had a Spanish paper on Spanish Baroque architecture, which I finished a week early! And my last interior design project (see the maquette model link above) I completed two days early even though my partner abandoned me and went to Arkansas.

I hope my Get-Everything-Done-Now-itis stays until the end of the school year. I like getting things done early.

  1. woah, that is impressive! i have *always* been a huge procrastinator. and even when I have myself on a good schedule, I still aim to be done on the exact due date. here's hoping this sticks for the rest of your school year - that would rock! :)

  2. I was a procrastinator (to a degree) until this year. With everything else that's going on this year- that just hasn't worked out and I have to say that I love the get-everything-done-itis much better! I love getting something done on Sunday that is due on Tuesday and not having the stress and freak-outs.

I'm just hoping it sticks with the thesis writing- here's to hoping the get-everything-done-itis does not pass!

  4. Yay for getting stuff done early! I'm sure it helps with the stress level. I wouldn't know though, since I'm a bit of a procrastinator, unfortunately. :)
